Abstract
Coeducation is an unfamiliar concept to the educational community, aimed at achieving equality in learning outcomes among all students without classification based on sex or gender. The objective of this study was to analyze methodological strategies for promoting coeducation in physical education, conducted in Educational District 13-02, Montecristi, Dominican Republic. The methodology was based on a quantitative, propositive, descriptive, non-experimental, and cross-sectional approach, involving 18 teachers, 100 students, and 100 parents. Results reveal a high percentage of teachers with no knowledge of coeducation (55.57%). Student responses were divided: 29% sometimes, 25% always, and 24% never. Meanwhile, 55.51% of parents believe boys possess greater skills than girls for certain specific sports, and 70% assert that boys outperform girls in contact sports and those requiring physical aggression. These findings underscore the importance of promoting methodological strategies to provide comprehensive teacher training in coeducation, as well as raising awareness among students and families about the need to eradicate gender stereotypes in the sports sector.
