Abstract
The purpose of education is that students can perform effectively, in the achievement of their learning. However, this is not the case due to various factors, among the most influential is the dysfunctional family. Therefore, the main objective is to determine the influence that dysfunctional families have on the low academic performance of children. Likewise, the hermeneutic methodology was taken into account in this work, which has allowed the reflective search of scientific quality data from bibliographic sources from the qualitative approach. Finally, it is concluded that dysfunctional families significantly influence the poor school performance of children.
