Information and communication technology (ict) and academic performance instudents of the V Cycle of Dentistry of the Particular University of Chiclayo -2017

Abstract

The present thesis Information and communication technology (tics) and academic performance in the dental student of the particular university of Chiclayo - 2017, aims to contribute to scientific research starting from the description and correlational of both variables, to solve the problem regarding the student's academic performance.

A research of qualitative nature was gestated whose research design is descriptive correlational, so it consists of data collection in a single moment, i.e. in a single time. 

Its purpose is to describe variables and correlate at a given moment; using methods and techniques in the research process; also for data analysis descriptive statistics was used with a population of 100 students, with a non-probabilistic selection sample of 15 students; also the questionnaire instrument consisting of 20 items was used.

Among the main conclusions, it is determined that when analyzing the data collected and the statistical graphs, it can be inferred that there is a significant relationship that indicates the incidence between both variables, that is, the relationship between information and communication technology (tics) and academic performance.

In conclusion, as can be seen in Table 01 and Graph 01, we can observe that 46.6% of the students in the 5th semester of dentistry apply and understand ICTs for good academic performance, 33.3% almost always analyze and evaluate the importance of ICTs for good academic performance, 13% sometimes use ICTs for good academic performance, and 7% of the students do not use ICTs for academic performance.
