Abstract

This research, from one of the main problems that Peruvian education is, which is, the need to know if, the leaders of educational institutions, that is, directors, carry out their functions in such a way that they fulfill the purposes and objectives that are set out in their institutions and in Peruvian education, whose acts grant guarantees of development and progress in education, by demonstrating effectiveness in their management; for this, it was raised as a general objective to evaluate the level of effectiveness in the management of the directors of basic education institutions of the city of Chachapoyas, 2018. The research worked with a population and sample of 05 directors and 50 classroom teachers of different levels of Basic Education in the city of Chachapoyas. The technique used was the survey and its instrument was the questionnaire that allowed to collect the information of each Educational Institution. The study variable was the level of effectiveness in management, disaggregated in educational management dimensions (institutional, administrative, pedagogical and community); also, as an instrument, an evaluation sheet of the Annual Work Plan (PAT) was used whose scale of resuring determined the successful, good, regular or poor level. The results of the research were that 01 director achieved a successful management rating with a score of 61.1 out of a total of 80 points respectively, and 04 directors obtained good management rating with 56.5, 56, 56.4 and 56.5, which led us to conclude that: the level of effectiveness in managing the directors of Educational Institutions of the basic level of the city of Chachapoyas, 2018, is good.
